Weekend Fun

This weekend Tia and the kids stayed with us while Matt went to a manager retreat. We had a lot of fun. The kids are so crazy and we love having them around. On Friday night we went to Red Robin. I really love that place. So good!

Kira would not look or smile for the camera at all! Every time I pulled it out she would start making these weird faces. We were all laughing hysterically.
I love this pic of Tia and Trae. They are both cheesers!
This is Shayla asleep on the way home. She sleeps with her eyes partyly open. It kind of freaks me out, but I loved the pic.

Another Domestic Accomplishment

This last week I was just driving to work when I saw a local farmer stand with some raspberries. I was pumped!!! I thought that I was going to have to wait until next season to do some raspberry jam. So I went to the stand and bought all the raspberries that they had. It was about a flat and a half. I won't tell you how much I paid for them though. (Dusty about died) I took a few days to get it done. The first day, I washed and got them packaged. Then this weekend with the help of my sister and the support of Dusty, I finished it up.
The fresh raspberries. They smelled so good!
Washing them
Letting them dry
Packaging them up
Mixing it all together. I love the bright color
Filling the jars
The finished product! It made much more, but some of it is already in the freezer.
Dusty made some bread and we have been eating it with the raspberry jam.
It turned out great, and it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be.
I just am feeling more domestic every day. hahaha

Homemade Apple Pie

On Sunday Shayla decided that she wanted to make dinner for some people and I told her that I would make dessert. I was just going to make easy apple crisp, but Dusty had gotten some apples from his parents' house and suggested that I make apple pie with the fresh apples. I am thinking to myself "I did this in high school, I can totally do it again." But at the same time I was really nervous because Shayla's sister Sharlyn (who is going to culinary school) was coming for dinner and that is like having a chef critique your work. Scary! So I got up Sunday morning and while watching conference I started the pie. I made the pie crust first and it wasn't too bad. Dusty helped me by peeling the apples and I made apple pie from scratch! And that night after dinner we tried it, and everyone liked it! I was relieved! This is the only pic that I took. I forgot to get one of the finished project. But this made me decide that I am going to try to be a little more domestic, and I will keep you posted how that goes. Thanks honey for the great suggestion and helping me out. You are awesome!

Jumping Jacks

So last night Dusty and I along with Tia and the kids went to Jumping Jacks. We had a blast. Dust wasn't able to play with us because he hurt his ankle pretty bad last week playing basketball but he was a great photographer and watching the kids. We all had so much fun!

All four of us going down one of the slides
Dusty and Kira. Kira is always smiling, but as soon as the camera comes out she always looks away and won't look at your until you put the camera down.
But she loves her Uncle Dusty and has been his bud while they have been here.

Trae was getting really brave, and was going down slides by himself. He did all of them but the biggest one. What a stud!!!
This is Kira just hanging out. While we would wait for Trae and Tia to come down a slide so would just sprawl out and roll around.
Go Tia!!! She was doing crazy things as she would go down!
Classic Kira!
Trying to get into mom's bag and find anything that she can get her hands on!
Tia and Trae going down the biggest slide! Trae would just laugh the whole way down
Tia and the kids. They were jumping and attacking her
We had a great time and Trae wanted to go back as soon as he got up this morning. We will just have to see what we can do about that! We have had so much fun with Tia and the kids and we are so glad that they came and stayed with us. Love you guys!

Radiology Party

This past Saturday Dusty had his Radiology class over for a get together. They hadn't been together for awhile and he thought it would be good to get everyone together again. Not everyone was able to make it but about half did. It was a lot of fun, and it was so good to see how everyone was doing and the new additions to the families. Thanks everyone for coming!

Sharlyn and Scott's Wedding

This weekend my best friend's Shayla's little sister Sharlyn got married. We went to Logan for the luncheon and then to Blackfoot to help with the reception. It turned out amazing and Sharlyn looked gorgeous, just like always. Here are a few pics from the wedding. If you want to see more check out this site http://wixomphoto.typepad.com/my_weblog/ This girl does amazing photos.

Eastern Idaho State Fair

This weekend we were in Idaho for Sharlyn's wedding and there was no way that I couldn't make a quick stop at the Eastern Idaho State Fair. I don't know if anyone quite understands unless you grew up in Blackfoot, but the fair is just great! It has the best food, my favs are scone nuggets, funnel cakes, and teriyaki bowls. My sister, Tia was up in Soda Springs and decided that she would also like to make a quick run to the fair, and so we met early that morning ate some good food and left before it got too busy. We had a good time.

Park City and Family Reunion

This past weekend we had a lot of fun. On Friday night Dusty planned a big birthday party for me up in Park City. We stayed at the Westgate Resort and ate at my fav restaraunt the Baja Cantina. Delicious!!! There was about 12 of us at dinner and then Dusty and I along with our friends Peter and Amber, and Karly and Carlos stayed the night. We stayed up until about 2:30, playing games, talking, and lots of laughing. We had a blast! Thanks everyone for coming, and thanks Dust for planning it.
Then on Saturday we had my mom's side family reunion. (sorry I didn't take any pics) It was so much fun seeing everyone. My mom came up with the game Survivor. We were split into 3 teams and we were trying to win the "family unity" neclace. My team kicked butt!!!! We had an obstacle course, put together a puzzle, quiz, and who could eat certain foods the fastest. I had to eat vienna sausages. I wouldn't do it at first, but then I shoved them down and won that round for my team! It was so much fun, and it helps that we won too! So all in all
we had a fabulous weekend.

The room at Westgate. This is the only pic of Dusty that I got all weekend
Me relaxing in the tub. I wish I would have had time to really do it!Me, Karly, Carlos, Peter and Amber (clockwise starting from the left)- Dust is taking the pic

I FINISHED!!!!

I finished it last night, and wow!!! was it good. I loved it. So intereting, but so amazing. Stephenie Meyer is such a great writer. If you have read the book, leave me a comment and tell me what you think!!! I don't want to say anything on a post that could spoil it for everyone.

Dusty turns 27 Today

Dusty opening his presents
I made this candy bar poster for my cute husband. I did it in about 15 minutes, so it could look better, but he loved it and that is all that matters.
So my amazing husband turns 27 today. And her are a few reasons he is the best ever
1. He is so understanding of my emotional side. He has learned how to comfort and not fix things. I think it takes a lot of guys many years to learn how to do that.
2. He is so willing to try things that I love. He has been to a few dance concerts, plays, and has even watched a couple of muscials with me.
3. He is hilarious! Whenever I am in a bad mood, he is there to put a smile on my face.
4. He is an amazing primary teacher. We teach the 5-6 year olds and they
ALL love him to pieces.
5. He loves me unconditionally!!!! That is the best thing ever. He even loves me when
I drive him crazy.
He is so amazing and I am so thankful to have him in my life. Happy Birthday Dust!!!!

Ali had a Birthday

So this past Saturday I turned the big 22! Really nothing exciting happens when you turn 22, but I had a great day. I was pretty spoiled. Here are some highlights: I got to sleep in, but Trae my wonderful nephew called me around 8 and woke me up to see a wonderful song "Happy Birthday". He calls me YaYa, and he is adorable. Then we went to breakfast at the Craker Barrel. I had some awesome french toast. Then I got to torture Dusty and go see Mama Mia with him. (come to find out he didn't mind it as much as he thought he would. Who can resist ABBA!!!) Then I got a pedicure. It was a great way to top off the day. I have an amazing husband who thinks of everything. Thanks sweetie! Love you!
