Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a busy Thanksgiving weekend that was full of family, laughter, movies and of course delicious food. We went up to my grandparents in Clearfield and had a lot of family there. My mom came up from Vegas, Tia and her family came from Idaho, as well as the Pingels. My mom's cousin Adam with his 3 kids came too, so we had a full house! It was a lot of fun!!! Dusty and I went shopping Thanksgiving night at Shopko and got a couple of things, but didn't get up for the shopping on Friday. I just couldn't do it! Too many people.
This is the only picture that I have of Dusty and I at Thanksgiving.
I don't know what we are doing in it.
After dinner my aunt Sandy did a craft for the kids. They loved it!

All the little ones

Tia, the kids, and my mom all stayed with us for the rest of the weekend. On Saturday we took the kids to see Santa and they had a great time. They were sure he was the real Santa!

Even Baby Dax was in the picture

California

We took a much needed long weekend vacaction to California. My mom's friend was putting on a concert and my mom was going to be there so we decided to make a trip out of it. We stayed in Huntington Beach and it was awesome!

Me and my adorable mom! We look more alike now that I have blond hair. This is how we got around. We rode bikes every day. It was a blast!!! There is nothing better than riding your bike by the ocean. So we took full advantage and rode our bikes everywhere. It was such nice weather, not too hot and not too cold, all you needed was a light jacket. Name the movie! :)

While there we also ate and some amazing places!

This is the Crab Cooker!

Dusty was in heaven, they serve all seafood and it is super fresh. They also serve you on paper plates and use paper cups. It was great! Since I don't like seafood I got some yummy coleslaw and potatoes. But I did try shrimp. It was good with the bacon, but I don't think that it is going to become something that I eat on a regular basis.
Ruby's is another favorite. They have amazing shakes!!! The Ruby's that we went to is out on the pier in Huntington Beach.

The best place had to be Fred's. It was amazing Mexican food. We all ate a lot, and probably could have eaten more if we weren't so stuffed. It is a must to go to! I am afraid that I will be getting cravings for it.

Dusty picked a flower for me to wear in my hair.

We had an AMAZING time!!!

Thanks mom for the invite! We need to do it again soon!

On Saturday we headed down to Santa Monica for Ashton Zyer's, my mom's friend from Las Vegas, concert. We had some time during the day so we met up with Dusty's cousin, Chad. We grabbed some delicious lunch and had a great time catching up.

She is super talented!
She composes, sings, plays the piano and the guitar
Check out http://www.ashtonzyer.com/ to listen to her music
Dusty and I then headed over to the Santa Monica Pier. I have always wanted to go and ride the ferris wheel. I was so scared because it is really high and right on the ocean. But we did it and had a great time! The view was awesome.

While in California we spent A LOT of time on the beach. It is so relaxing watching the waves, and all of the surfers. There was a surf competition in Huntington Beach on Saturday and Sunday. We had a great time just sitting there.

They saw a cool surfer!

We played in the ocean - It was not planned but we were taking pictures and kept on getting wet so we dived in. It was cold, but once your body was numb it was a lot of fun!
This was the picture right before my mom lost her phone in the ocean - yeah it was a big bummer

Baby Dax

My amazing sister had a new baby last week.
Dax Jolley was born on 10/29/2009. Dusty and I were able to go up to Idaho for a quick weekend trip to visit. He is so precious and so little. He likes to cuddle, so it was fun to hold him. But we had to share with Trae and Kira a lot because they thought that it should always be their turns. They are such a good big brother and sister and love baby Dax a lot! Congrats Jolley's on your new baby! Sweet Baby

Dress Shopping

Dakota and I met our freshman year of college. We were roommates and it hit off right away. We had so much fun together. From alberstons ice cream runs, to just hanging out in our room. We always had a good time. I will forever be grateful to Dakota for introducing me to her cousin, Dusty, who I later married.
Dakota came to me a bit ago with the exiciting news that she was getting married and wanted me to be her matron of honor. I of course said yes, and began brainstorming wedding details with her. We go back and forth all day long of "do you like this" and "what about that". It has been so much fun. This past Saturday we went dress shopping with her mom. I think Dakota tried on over 30 dresses, and it was tiring, for her mom and I. But we had such a great time, and she found a dress!!! Pretty impressive. (none of the dresses below are the ones that she chose)

She looked gorgeous in so many, so it was very hard for her to decide, but she did it! I am sure that there will be many more wedding posts to come.

Frightmares

Last weekend, Dusty took an early day off to hang out and we took full advantage and went up to Frightmares at Lagoon. We had a lot of fun. We rode the rides, watched the shows and even went through a Haunted House. It was very scary and Kitani and I decided that we didn't want to do any others. Jeff also played a couple of games, and won Kitani some prizes. It was a great night and it was fun to get out and about.

Fun Times Throughout the Night

Who knew I could be Crafty?

Last week Kitani and I set out to do a project. We went to the Quilted Bear and Roberts. We found what we were looking for and started to work. I was a little nervous, I had never really made anything. I painted, used Mod Podge, and a Glue Gun. Wow, I am impressed. It turned out really cute and will go great in the living room. I am doing a red, white and black theme.

The Finished Product
Now, I just need to figure out how to hang it. I have thought ribbon maybe, but do any of you have suggestions?
