Mount Timpanogos Cave

This morning Dusty and I went with our friends, Aaron and Jen from Texas, and hiked up to the Timpanogos Cave. It was pretty intense. I am so out of shape and that hike was steep! The caves were awesome, and I guess they were worth the hike. Thanks Aaron and Jen for the awesome idea.
This is after we finished the hike. My face is BRIGHT RED!!!! I don't sweat, I just have the reddest face ever.

The Heart of the Cave
There is some legend that this is the heart of 2 Indians who died
Dusty and I after we got out of the cave. It was absolutely gorgeous! I little scary for someone who is afraid of heights but beautiful just the same.

Anniversary Weekend

So I decided that I wanted to carry out Dusty and I's anniversary to the weekend. We went and stayed at the Armstrong Mansion, a bed and breakfast in Salt Lake. I would not recommend this place. It was so noisy because it was close to the street, and you could hear when anyone used any sort of water. Plus, the breakfast was not very good. Dusty and I have stayed at a couple bed and breakfasts, and I normally love them, but we will not be going back here. But it was a bonus that they upgraded our room. If you ever want to go to a good bed and breakfast go to the Castle Creek Inn (www.castleutah.com) So Friday night we didn't get any sleep and Saturday we thought that we would try something fun and new, so we went up to Snowbird. They had an Alpine Slide, a tram to ride to the top of the mountain, a zip line, and a bunch of other things to do. I was so proud of myself for going on the zip line. It was pretty scary and intense, but I did it. So Dusty and I had a great anniversary weekend and got to do something things that we normally don't get to do.
We were upgraded to the June Bridal Suite because the innkeeper was using
the room that we booked. Nice upgrade!

This the biggest tub that I have ever seen. You really can't tell by the picture, but it is huge! But also really slick. I about fell on my face!
Dusty riding the bull. He rocked and looked really hot doing it!
On the VERY top of the mountain. I had to use the zoom big time with camera because I couldn't get that close to look down.
Dusty and I on the top of the mountain. It was beautiful up there.

3 Year Anniversary

Us at the Melting Pot
The Cheese Course
The Meat Course
(I forgot to take the pic when we first got it)
The Delicious Chocolate!!!
Dusty was being a really good cook. He was all over it!
My favorite was the dessert. Those chocoloate dipped strawberries were to die for!
We got the chocolate and carmel fondue. Amazing!

So on Tuesday, July 8, it was Dusty and I's 3 year anniversary. I couldn't believe it! It seems like we have been together forever, but at the same time I can't believe how fast the 3 years have gone. We have been through a lot, 3 different surgeries, building a house, finishing school and numerous jobs. I have loved almost every minute of it. (I'll be honest the surgeries were not fun) I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband. He is so patient, always makes me laugh and I don't know what I would do without him.
He spoils me too much!! For our anniversary this year, Dusty decided to take me to the Melting Pot.
I had been wanting to go for a long time, and we finally did it. It was so good.
The food was great, and it was very fun and romantic at the same time. Very good choice.

New Hair!

The Side View
The Front
The Back

So, I have cut my hair! It has not been this short since the 8th grade. Crazy! So the pics aren't the greatest it was being out of control today, so sorry. But I decided to cut it because the back had started to really grow from where the doctor shaved it, so I wanted it to all start growing together. It turned out pretty good. It is just taking some getting used to! And I am pretty sure that I look soooo tired in the middle pic. Oh well.

Another Surgery!!!! and Dusty doing Ali's Hair

So on this past Monday, I had my gallbladder removed. Yes, I know, only 4 months after my last surgery. I thought brain surgery fixed everything, but it didn't. I started to get really sick again, and we found out that I had gallstones, and so they took it out. This is Dusty and I at the hospital. I look so hot!!! The doctor was running late that day, so we were there for a long time. But everything went well and I am recovering. Fun times at the Batty house.

Dusty had been begging me to let him do my hair when it had been growing in after the brain surgery, and so when day I let him do it, and I wanted everyone to see Dusty's good work. In the picture on top you can still see my scar, but it is doing much better and healing nicely! Good job on the hair honey!

6 Random Things About Me...

I was tagged by Leah and thought I better do it

1. Most people would be surprised to know that I have a dog. Harley is a super cute beagle, that doesn't bark unless there is something REALLY wrong. And that is why I can handle it.

2. I had brain surgery in February, and I was so worried about the doctor shaving my hair and what it was going to look like. Come to realize, I don't care all that much and the doctor did a great job.

3. I have the song "Chocolate Rain" stuck in my head a lot. (it is video on YouTube, you should check it out) My bosses play it at work constantly because they think it is so funny. It really isn't.

4. Dusty and I get to teach the 5 and 6 year olds in Primary. They are a lot of fun, but I don't know how some of their parents do it.

5. My favorite thing to do after work is drive home with all of the windows down and rock out to the music. My fav is Avril Lavigne. Love her!

6. In July, I will have been married for 3 years. It is so crazy, but I am so grateful for my amazing husband who has been so patient through everything and always makes me laugh and smile. Love you honey!

I tag Tia, Annie, Kellie and Kara

Hair Update

So hear is my hair update. It has been almost 4 months since my surgery and my hair is really growing back. It grows in 500 different ways though, so we will see as it starts to grow in more, what it is really going to look like. My longer hair still covers all of it so it is really nice. Cross your fingers that is starts growing some more!

GRASS

I have the most amazing husband, who takes the time to plant our lawn and doesn't even ask me to help. Let's be honest, it is probably because I would go more in the way then actually help. But he is a sweetheart. Thanks so much honey! I love you!
We have grass!
Here is the house with me and Harley in the front. The big black prints
you see in the front is from our neighbors dog. How nice!

Here is the backyard. Dusty and his dad got in on Saturday. Thanks Doyle!

This pic is for Trae. It's Mickey and Minnie!

Me at Disneyland with the Mickey Flowers

Dusty had the opprotunity to go to Carlsbad, California for 11 days for training for his new job. I was lucky enough to go join him for a long weekend! (thursday-monday) We had so much fun. We found where we want a beach house, Coronado, CA, and we were able to go to Disneyland and California Adventure. They were both very fun, but it was super hot! And I don't know if it was the smartest thing to go on a roller coaster with my head, but I did it anyway. Then we just spent time on the beach and enjoying California. It was so much fun, and we both needed a little vacation.

The Host

For those of you who know me you know that I love the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. So good! But she is coming out with a new book on May 6, 2008. It looks pretty good, but also a little weird so it will be interesting to see what it is like. I always love to find new books to read.

50th Birthday

So, this was the big year for Dusty's Mom she turned 50. Dusty figured it out a week before and decided that we just had to do a surprise birthday party. So I say "k, let's do it."
Here are some pics from the party

Karen walking in. She didn't know what to do. It was great.

Karen blowing out her candles

Trenton, Amy and Aiden. She is getting pretty big.

This is me and Dust after the party. We were exhausted!

Brain Surgery

So, a lot has happened in the last couple of months. The biggest thing is that I had brain surgery on February 16, 2008. I had been really sick for a couple of months and we could figure out what was wrong with me, so my amazing husband decided it would be a good idea to do a MRI. Well, guess what? We found something! It was a brain cyst, and the doctor said that it had probably been there since I was born and it had just started to grow and started to cause me some problems. Everything went really well, we got into the doctor quickly (not 6 months that it normally takes) and the recovery went so well. I was back to work part time within 3 weeks. So, Dusty and I have been very blessed and know that without Heavenly Father's help it would not have gone so smoothly. But here is a pic of my scar when I got home. And the next pick is of a Get Well message from our Bishop's family. They live across the street from us. They have such great kids.

So, that is the most exiciting news by far, but I will try to get a pic posted of my hair growing back in. I just haven't taken one yet.
